           In the news, WE WANT YOU, was the head line of the Providence Journal news paper, just one day after the test scores of our schools were released. The scores were so low that the state of Rhode Island is starting a recruiting campaign to draw smarter students to Rhode Island schools.
          The governor, at a news conference stated that the need for a program to draw smarter students to the state to bring up test scores is needed to maintain federal funding. he stated that the problem is not the teachers, who have tried every thing to get the message across to the students. The problem seems to be that our students just aren't bright enough to grasp the information put out
         Some of the incentives being considered to draw students in are free housing in places like the Marriott hotel and free debit cards for the Providence Place Mall.

         In the news According to CNN a new poll shows in the New Mexico Primaries that 65% of short fat bald men in their fifties voted for Hillery Clinton among them 20% of the 65% weighed over 200lbsand 14% of the 65% were under 5 feet tall.Also 46% of the residents of the Old  Timers nursing  home  voted  for Obama 23% of the 46% were on the Alzheimer's ward.

What to do.

        What to do, It's 2AM and on the way home the light turns red and of course you stop. Now you look in all directions and see nothing for miles. Do you wait for the light to change or do you go thru the light? You know, there could be a cop hiding behind those bushes down the street, it looks like the kind of place they like to hang out. Should you take the chance or just wait. Damn, maybe he's sleeping or eating a donut and he'll just let you go.Na, not with your luck.Better wait, No; it's 2AM and the little voice says go ahead. Here's your big chance to  beat the system. OH, damn, the light turned green, maybe next time.

Economic stimulus package, who will benefit?

         Who will really benefit from the economic stimulus package passed yesterday? Think about it. Most everything you buy in our country was made in another country. If the money is used to pay debts of the mortgage crises the mortgage companies who caused the problem will profit from it. If  the money is used to pay off credit card bills the  credit card  people who can charge  up to thirty percent interest will  profit from it. So who will benefit from it?
         It will be nice to receive the check in the mail but what is really needed is for the government to change the  way  these people do business. Does it make sense to allow credit card companies to raise interest rates on people who are having trouble paying their bill to a rate that is impossible to pay. This is nothing more than legalized loan sharking. These companies are not worried about the balance you owe as long as you pay the interest.
        What I think we, the citizens of America,  need to do is sit back and take a good look at how  our  country does  business. Do our law makers work to protect the  the people  who put them  where they are  or  they making laws to protect big corporations  who  are making big profits off it's citizens?  This is an election year, maybe it's time for a change.

IT'S THAT TIME OF YEAR,AGAIN.

        OK people, it's about that time again. Have you noticed the price of gas going down? Do you know what that means? Yup, their using up all that winter gas and will be shutting down their refineries so they can jump up the price of gas just in time for Memorial day.
       Now I don't want to hear any whinning or crying, it happens every year at this time. With in a month or so the price will be rising and should hit about $3.50 by Memorial Day but have no fear by August it' ll be down to about $3.25 then of course the price of heating oil will be going up. It's an never ending  circle.
      So lets show them this year that we're wise to their games and not go on vacation till August when the prices start coming down. Yea, when you make that trip to the grocery store  make a list so  you don't forget anything  and have to make two or  three trips. Maybe Exxon's profits will go down.
